National Forecast (lyrics)
Lyrics from The New York Times, Sunday, November 30, 2003. Premiered March 2005 at New York University, Karen Siegel (soprano) and Sheryl Lee (piano).
Gusty winds will continue to buffet a large area from the northern Plains to the Northeast Seaboard today as a series of dry but vigorous disturbances pass along the Canada border. Patchy clouds and a few flurries will accompany a disturbance crossing the interior Northeast. Winds from the west drying on descent from the Appalachians will promote partly sunny skies near the coast.
A few flurries will surround a cold front passing [through] the upper Midwest today. Behind the front, gusty winds from the northwest will deliver much colder air to the region this evening.
Dry and mild weather will cover the South today. Under mainly sunny skies, daytime highs will reach the 60's and 70's in most areas. A low pressure zone off the Pacific coast will bring showers and mountain snow to northern California and Oregon.
